EDITORS COMMENTS
In this heartwarming photo print, we witness the incredible reunion between Terry Waite and his beloved MGB sports car. The image captures a moment of pure joy as Terry is finally reunited with his cherished blue car after years of separation. Back in 1987, when Terry embarked on his fateful journey to Beirut, he left behind his treasured vehicle in the garage of his Blackheath home. Little did he know that he would spend nearly five agonizing years as a captive before being released in November of last year. During this time, the once pristine MGB had deteriorated into an almost unrecognizable wreck. However, thanks to the remarkable efforts of the MG Car Club, who took it upon themselves to restore the car completely, today marks a special day for both Terry and his faithful companion. As they stand side by side in London on January 28th, 1992, their bond remains unbroken despite all odds. This photograph not only symbolizes resilience and hope but also serves as a testament to human compassion and solidarity. It encapsulates Terry's extraordinary journey from captivity to freedom while showcasing how acts of kindness can restore what was lost. Through this touching image captured by Ken Lennox from Memory Lane Prints, we are reminded that even amidst darkness and despair, there is always light at the end of the tunnel – or perhaps in this case – an open-top sports car waiting patiently for its owner's return.
