Cantilever and central girder design by John Fowler (1817-1898) and Benjamin Baker (1840-1907) who was also the engineer. William Arrol (1839-1913) the principal contractor. The steel for the girders was produced the by the Siemens-Martin process. Chromolithograph c1895
