To become a Royal wedding ring?.
Gold ore from the Graigwen mine, near Barmouth, the only goldmine, now working in Wales, was sent to the Industrial Wales Exhibition, Olympia, today, to be put on display. It has been offered for the making of Princess Elizabeths ring. Welsh gold, through tradition, has the distinction of being used for the wedding rings of the British Royal family. The last such ring was made for the Duchess of Kent.
Photo shows, Miss Ann Dedwydd Roberts, of Barmouth, Wales, pictured with the gold ore, which is on display at the Industrial Wales Exhibition from today.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this black and white portrait, Miss Ann Dedwydd Roberts of Barmouth, Wales is pictured holding a piece of gold ore from the Graigwen mine. This precious mineral has been sent to the Industrial Wales Exhibition at Olympia with hopes that it will be used to create Princess Elizabeth's wedding ring. Welsh gold holds a special place in tradition as it has been chosen for the wedding rings of the British Royal family throughout history. The significance of this particular gold ore lies not only in its rarity but also in its connection to Welsh heritage. The Graigwen mine, located near Barmouth, is currently the only working goldmine in Wales, making this piece even more valuable. As we gaze upon Miss Ann Dedwydd Roberts delicately cradling the nugget, we can't help but imagine the craftsmanship and artistry that could transform it into a symbol of love and unity for royalty. It evokes a sense of anticipation and excitement surrounding Princess Elizabeth's upcoming nuptials. This photograph captures a moment frozen in time - September 6th, 1947 - when dreams were woven around this golden treasure. Its monochrome tones add an air of nostalgia while reminding us that even amidst post-war challenges, love and celebration still prevailed. Let us admire this image as a testament to both natural beauty and human ingenuity; where ancient elements merge with modern aspirations on their journey towards becoming part of something truly royal.
