The Putorius davidianus, also known as the Chinese ferret-badger or the David's ferret-badger, is depicted on the left side of the plate. On the right side of the plate is the P. moupinensis, or the Moupin ferret-badger, native to China and Tibet. Its fur is typically brown with black stripes, and it has a distinctive white patch on its chest.
