EDITORS COMMENTS
The White Hart Public House, located at Liverpool Street in the heart of London's bustling financial district, is a historic pub with a rich history that dates back to the 19th century. The corner view of the pub, as depicted in this photograph, showcases its classic red brick facade adorned with ornate white detailing and the distinctive sign of the White Hart, an ancient symbol of hospitality and strength. Originally built in the late 1800s, the White Hart was once a popular watering hole for local workers and travelers passing through Liverpool Street Station. Over the years, it has undergone various transformations, but its charm and character have remained intact. The pub was once owned by the Charrington and Company Limited, a well-known brewery in London, and later became part of the Nicholsons (Mitchells & Butlers) estate. However, it closed its doors in 2014, leaving many locals and visitors saddened by its loss. Despite its closure, the White Hart continues to be fondly remembered by those who have visited it over the years. The pub's warm and inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent selection of beers and ales made it a beloved institution in the Liverpool Street community. This photograph captures a moment in time, preserving the memory of the White Hart as it once was, and serving as a reminder of the rich history and traditions that make up the fabric of London's pub culture.
