This evocative photograph, taken circa 1905, offers a rare bird's-eye view of Jaffa's Bodstross Street, now a bustling commercial area in the heart of Tel Aviv, Israel. At the turn of the 20th century, Jaffa was a thriving port city, and Bodstross Street was a vibrant and diverse neighborhood, home to both Jewish and Arab residents. In this image, we see a mosaic of rooftops, with their red-tiled houses and flat terraces, interspersed with the domes and minarets of mosques and other religious sites. The streets below are a patchwork of narrow alleys and winding lanes, crisscrossing the hilly terrain. The Mediterranean Sea glimmers in the distance, its azure waters reflecting the sun's rays.
