The year was 1915, and the German military, specifically the Heer or German Army, had made significant strides in the development of rigid airships as powerful tools for reconnaissance and strategic bombing. The LZ-38, with its distinctive elongated shape and rigid frame, is seen here in all its glory, its metallic exterior gleaming in the sunlight.
